-----------------------------------
I recieved this offer on 30th Dec.
------------------
From: Bintou Deme
Dearest One,
Good day and thank you for your attention. Please i want you to
carefully read my email and assist me to handle this project. I am
Miss Bintou Deme and i humbly write to solicit for your partnership
and assistance in the transfer and investment of my inheritance funds
US $ 6,500,000.00 (Six Million Five Hundred Thousand United States
Dollars) which my late beloved Father deposited in a bank before he
died.

I want to assure you that this fund is legally acquired by my late
father and it has no criminal background. My Father legally acquired
this fund through a legitimate business before he was poisoned to
death during his business trip. The death of my Father was suspected
to be planned by his relative who traveled with him during that period
of his business trip. Because after 3 months of my Father's death, His
relatives started claiming and selling all my late Father's
properties.

My late Father's relatives are not aware of the US $ 6,500,000.00 (Six
Million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) which my late
Father deposited in the bank and my late Father secretly told me
before he died that I should seek for a foreign partner in any country
of my choice where i will transfer this funds for my own purposes.

Please help me to transfer this funds to your account for a business
purposes in your country. I took this decision because i have suffered
a lots of humiliations from my late Father's relatives. Presently, I
have had communications with the director of the bank where my late
father deposited this money. I have explained to the director of the
bank about the urgency needed to make sure the fund is transferred
abroad so that I can leave this country for my safety. The director of
the bank has assured me that the fund will be transferred as soon as i
present someone who will be honest to receive the fund on my behalf
for this purpose.

Please be rest assured that the bank will transfer the fund to your
account and there will be no problem. This transaction is 100% risk
free and legitimate. I am willing to offer you 30% of the total sum as
compensation for your effort / input after the successful transfer of
this fund into your account. You will also help me to donate 10% to
charity organization and motherless babies homes in your country.

Please all I want you to do for me is to stand as my foreign partner
so that the bank will transfer this fund to your account to enable me
live this country. Please, i will need your urgent assistance because
of my present condition now. On your full acceptance to work with me
regarding this purpose kindly indicate your interest by reply back to
me so that I will give you the needful information and the details on
how to proceed further, i will offer you 30% of the money for your
help and assistance to handle this.

Your urgent response will be appreciated.
Best regards
Bintou Deme

I posted it because I thought it amazing that people are still sending them.

Is there anyone who *hasn't* received one of these?

I thought your point was also that they *think* they have become more
sophisticated by no longer claiming to be Nigerian princes :-)

My Junk folder seems to be less peppered with offers of exotic sex and
free money. More of it now is "Track my package" and "Morrison's offers".

Yes I admire their inventiveness well some of them, the best is still the one about a nigerian
astronaut being left on a space station for the last 10 years and they haven't returned him yet but,
when they do he'll share his 10+ year salary with you if you help him, most are just sent to a spam folder very few get through.
My one was taken from my junk folder, which I do check because students have been apparently sending me emails
and I haven't replied and yes some legitimate emails do get sent to junk.

and I'm a bit bored at the moment.
I might even reply to wodders I'm that bored.

Wonder if they actually know, but I still find them interesting in how they attempt/tempt me
to part with my money.
Sometimes I'm even tempted to reply to see what happens.
Giving a fake funny aname etc.

They don't want to be too believable, as they want to find complete
idiots who will believe them when they ask for money to be sent.

It costs nothing to send out the emails. What costs them is the time
spent dealing with the suckers, and what they don't want is one who
catches on to the scam part way through the process.

Yes. I got an email very well written saying that he was purging his
database and did I want to be on it. Some time later and hardly a
coincidence a new letter arrived with all my correct details, ie names etc,
suggesting that a relative of mine had left some money in some obscure part
of the world.
I have to admit I expected it as I often waste these folks time
deliberately, but in this case decided not to and binned it. I guess had I
been Mr Albert Ross, or similar they would just have written to them
instead.

Like I say there are still variations. I'd also like to know why they keep
on sending me virgin media stuff which is clearly not from them, and of
course how it is that virgins email cannot seem to stop them.
There are some emails about large sums of money which clearly state that
the movement of monies in this way is part of a money laundering exercise. I
mean would you respond to such a dodgy deal?

I'm also getting offers to be the sole UK supplier of Chinese made
disability equipment. Well, most of these are basically mobility scooters
and bath seats. I'm obviously on some list as disabled. However I am blind
not mobility impaired and I find their patter so annoying.
Besides, having known somebody who took up an option to distribute some
chinese devices, and how he lost money when the first shipment came and was
crap quality, I'd not touch them with a ten foot pole.
