Anyone else being "pursued" by the Feckin AA via spam text messages?

3 times in 18 months I've emailed them to remind them that they have
agreed to stop spamming my phone!
I included copies of all the previous emails over the months but they
still keep "popping up" with more bolox.... FFS if anything is going
to make me *less* likely to buy from the Feckin AA it's these
unsolicited BS spam texts!

When will they begin to understand basic E-murketing?
Doubtless another 1/2 arsed juvenile "marketeer" fresh from Staffs
Poly doubtless "at the top of their game" already..... we'll see abt
that....grrrrrrr

Tried replying with "stop" by SMS? Works for most automated spam.

If these are really unsolicited, and you're with Vodafone, forward
them to VSPAM (87726), which is free. Vodafone will block senders
if enough people complain that way. I also found it stopped me being
charged for premium rate spam (although I expect that this also
requires anough complaints about the same spam).

Its probably a failing in that they do not understand how their own systems
work. I find this particularly with phone an snail mail marketing, even
though I'm on the lists for no unsolicited calls or mail, It still pops up
due to the mis spelling of my name and no matter how often I get them
crossed off the list gets sold on to company b or c without the corrections
and the whole mess starts up again as if the counter had been reset.

It can get a bit willy waving like but recommend you send them a Section
11 notice under the Data Protection Act 1988 which renders them liable
for prosecution if they ignore it (even if they have an ongoing business
relationship with you).

Here's an example:

http://www.dephormation.org.uk/dpa_notices/dpa_notice.php

In my view this example is overly formal as I don't see a problem with
being chatty when telling people to f'ck off or else but it does cover
the bases.

Maybe have a google for other examples or look up the act to see section
11.

IMV, the lesson is to email once then call to request a fax number for
their dispute resolution team then hit them. By phone, "Can you outline
the problem so that I can help you with it", "No, just give me details
to contact your dispute/legal team in writing".

Nah, it just confirms the number is live with a human using it. Means
it will just get sold on to more spammers as "confirmed working with
numpty user on the other end".
