When viewing newsgroups in Thunderbird, is there a shortcut key which
closes all the opened threads and sub threads, please?

Right click anywhere in all the thread tabs at the top, and select
'Close Other Tabs'

You mean collapsing the tree view such that you see only the OP and none
of the replies?

If so, then just hit \

To expand all threads, *

So its a toggle is it? Blindies like me expect to be able to use a shortcut
key, seeing as we do not use the mouse. Often many sighted people tell me
that when they get used to short cuts in software its more accurate and
faster than the mouse in any case.
