Some of us in the UK have decided it's time ofr a major, national
Civil Loberties organisation, and we're looking for people who wish to
help start it.

Would anyone online here interested in helping create / run / support
such an organisation please email me as follows:

fre...@irkar.demon.co.uk

and let me have your name and a contact method (snail / email / phone
/ whatever) and I'll put together a list. For those who wish to do so
in confidence, or for any other confidential matter my PGP key is
appended - do let me have your's too :)

I will see if I can drum up some other folks (i.e. offline /
elsewhere) too.

Hey what a great idea. You could call it the National Council for Civil
Liberties!

Down on uk.current-events.general street, the vibe from Jon Rouse is:

~ Hey what a great idea. You could call it the National Council for Civil
~ Liberties!

...which has become little more than another front group for new
labour - apparently one of liberty's leaders has stated that they
will not oppose labour policy.

Which is rather a contradiction, since 'new labour' & 'civil liberties'
do seem to be somewhat mutually exclusive.

New Labour - at least they'll make the trains run on time.

The name Harriet Harman may be a big clue here....
