UK contracting/sponsorship questions

Hello.

I'm an antipodean computer programmer who's been contracting in London
through a standard two-year working holiday visa. This visa expires
soon and I'm not too keen to leave just yet.

I have no recent English ancestry, and marriage is not currently an
option.

The most feasible way for me to stay, then, is to get sponsorship from
a company. However, that means being tied down to the one place, as well
as having to endure a relatively low permanent salary. I enjoy the money
that contracting offers, and I also enjoy being able to take three months
off when I want to go and travel.

Does anyone know of any IT recruiting agencies (or any organisation for
that matter) who can "employ" me, sponsor me, and still contract me out ?

I realise going on someone's payroll means I'm liable for NI, income
tax, etc, but I'd still have the freedom and money (at least more than
than if I went permanent).

Thanks,

W.T.

Given that you're a contractor, have you though about going PAYE though an
agency? This might fulfill the 'employment' requirement.

Have you spoken to a solicitor with immigration experience?
