Why has all this sleep/health mumbo jumbo suddenly appeared on the
phone? What have they done - or is it summat I have done inadvertently.

I now cannot change the times of the 3 alarms I have always had set up
without some odd circle of life thingamabob twiddling.

How do I get back to simpler times ?

Cheers JohnB

Thanks - the info in the link describes the problem perfectly! I dont
want to have to do that I just want the 2 or 3 (variable) alarm times I
always use.

How do I get rid. If I try and delete the damn health App there is no
delete option - just a "remove from home screen" and it will keep in App
library.

Looks like 1984 has arrived at last. Will have to find a decent alarm
clock App I guess

Go into your App Store and search for 'Alarm Clock' - there are a number
of options for you to select, John.

Just have a play!

Good luck! 😅

Start the Clock app. Change or set the "Sleep | Wake Up" alarm at the
top of the screen to be "No alarm" by pressing "Change" then sliding the
screen up to reveal the controls hidden off the bottom which include a
"Wake up alarm" slider - set this to off. Press Done.

Use the + button to create as many "Other" alarms as you want. Use the
Edit button to change an alarm description, timing, repeat setting etc.
Use the slider to enable / disable without removing the alarm.

Thanks chaps. Will take a look at those 2 options tomorrow - assuming
the wake up alarm still works :-)

Are you talking about Clock app or something else? You can have more than 1 alarm - I have the 3 that I generally use and just turn them on/off as needed. Siri will also enable an existing alarm that matches the time you asked for.

If you need to change the time, tap 'edit", tap on min/hr and type in what you need. Far simpler than the dial/rotary (whatever it's called) tha they used to have. They still kept that for the timer I notice.

In similar vein, is there any way to get rid of the 'Advert' to try Apple
Fitness on the Settings screen? No, I don't want to try it, and I don't want
the ad for it so prominently stuck there.

Which settings screen in particular?

I don't see anything resembling an invitation to try the Health App (and
I don't have it enabled).

Do you have an Apple watch? I don't, so it might be sparing me from
things that won't be possible anyway.

I do, but I don't see the message on my iPhone. I'd assumed this was
something to do with my iPhone being an old model.

Valentina has a newer iPhone and an Apple watch, and the invitation (on the
main settings screen) is really annoying her.

If it's anything like the invitation to try Apple Arcade that
has been annoying me: I have just found a right angle-bracket
to the right of the invitation; touching that gave me an option
to decline and bingo! the ad was gone.

I've never seen either of these. iPhone Xs/watch 5. Although to be fair
I am currently subbed to Apple Arcade.

I haven't seen these, but I can't swear to "never: - maybe it offered them to me when I first u/g'ed to iOS, turned them off and it hasn't shown them to me since.

Thank you Sn!pe.

Found the angle-bracket, and the option to 'Set up later' has indeed made the
ad go away.
