Hi,

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

My battery life has really taken a turn for the worse
recently - even draining while the lid is closed. I found
an article here

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8368663

And followed the steps - which appeared at least to
resolve the battery drain whilst lid closed (I still find
the battery life to be now much worse than it used to be,
max 3 hours is possible despite the health reported to be
good - things are probably made more complicated as
running Parallels 14 and Windows 10).

But back to that article - what I noticed is that the
value of tcpkeepalive seems to be changing randomly - no
time stamps on the following output but

MacBook-Pro:~ $ pmset -g | grep tcp
tcpkeepalive 0
MacBook-Pro:~ $ pmset -g | grep tcp
tcpkeepalive 1
MacBook-Pro:~ $

Now the switch from 0 to 1 was not caused by me issuing a
pmset command.

Any suggestions what might be resetting this value and how
to prevent it from doing so?

Thanks for this post. I've noticed my 2017 MBP exhibited the same issue;
regularly losing 20% battery overnight. For example, this morning
(Sunday) it was on 58% battery - it was 100% went I left work on Friday
evening. Hopefully, this has resolved it for me. I'm on 10.13.6 FTR.

I'll let you know if my tcpkeepalive changes underneath me. One thought:
is your Mac managed by work? Do they need Find My Mac to be working for
remote access, etc? Mine is a work managed one, so I am half expecting
it to change.

In article <pqhlgt$gs1$1...@dont-email.me>, ithi...@gmail.com says...
Not managed by work, I'm the only mac user in the business (everyone
else, when given the option, went for laptops for windows only). And I
originally went "the mac way" because the Macbook Air was so lovely.

Checked the battery usage this weekend and it's 2% usage since Friday
rather than the 40% last weekend.
