Hi all,

It started yesterday out of the blue.

GoogleUpdater started popping up every 20 minutes or so looking for me
to sign my passord so that it could make changes.

At first I signed but now I just cancel.

Is there a fault ? Am ai missing something ?

It is still doing it today after I turned off for the night.

When I enter my password a Google Updater window opens in blue that
lists the three apps I have installed, Google Gadgets, Google Updater
and Picasa Web Albums.

Is it waiting for me to do something ?

I didn't do anything here. When you say turned off you mean shut down
rather than sleep?

Oh yes. In fact it has been completely turned off three or four times
now over the last few days.

I just found this on a Google site:

"Google Updater for Mac has been retired because Google software, such
as Desktop and Notifier, no longer require its use. If you had it
installed, we did some housecleaning and automatically removed the
program for you, using GoogleUpdaterGhostInstaller.pkg, in order to free
up processing power on your computer."

Has anyone any idea where I could download
GoogleUpdaterGhostInstaller.pkg from ?

I have searched and it is not on my HD (iMac 10.6.5)

Has anyone any ideas on this whole process of removing the installer
updater ? I dragged the app into my trash and emptied it but it still
pops up every 30 minutes after a number of reboots.... help !!!
