Since upgrading to macOS 12.0.1 on my Mac Mini (Late 2014) I've noticed
that certain graphics appear as small blue question marks in emails in
the Apple Mail app. I found a partial solution: Mail < Preferences <
Privacy < uncheck 'Protect Mail Activity'. At the top right hand corner
of the email itself I then click the 'Load Remote Content' button .....
and the graphics re-appear. Has anyone else noticed this?

Ian.

Presumably they look sufficiently like tracking images that Apple's
warning you about them.

I was under the impression you’ve been able to select this for a while.
Looks like it’s just turned on by default now? I keep meaning to turn it on
so ‘email opened’ alerts don’t get fed back (tracking pixels?)

For a fresh user account the default has been to not load images for
five years or more, I'm sure.

There are some occasional extra issues at the moment with the Private
Relay feature sometimes dropping the ball and leaving you with blue
question squares instead of images you actually wanted.

Cheers - Jaimie
