If so, do you get good reproduction of photographs?

Mine always come out too dark, and there seem to be a few posts on the
internet with others with the same issue, and no clear resolution.

So I'd be interested to know if anyone has got one of these printers
connected to a mac, producing good output - and if so, how you did it.

Thanks

I have the Canon CLBP 460 PS which is a HP 4500 without its disguise and
is probably very similar to yours.

It is inportant to keep the calibration window clean. In my model there
is a brush hung up on the RHS fram inside the drum drawer; this must be
used to clean the window underneath the drum (round an awkward corner
and not easily visible) and there will be instructions on how to do it
packed with replacement drums. If you get stuck, I can try to explain
further.

I have found that B&W photographs come out very dark on my printer - I
suspect the black gamma needs re-adjusting or it may improve when the
drum is changed - but colour is generally all right. The type of paper
can sometimes make a subtle difference.

I finally sorted it, used ColorSync utility to chnage the RGB profile
associated with the device. Anything other than the HP one is an
improvement.
