They 'upgraded' their site. It's the normal whitespace-happy,
information sparse UX nightmare that the webloons of today inflict on
people. Functionality gone but hey! Responsive design!

I can't get it to load on Safari (in Sierra). Works on Chrome, not on
Safari. Anyone else use it and able to log in? I get past the login
page, then I get a white box with a spinning circle and that's it -
never loads the accounts. On Chrome that box then changes to 'please
wait, we are loading your accounts' and then shows the
abomination^H^H^Hnew online interface.

Anyone having better luck?

Cheers,
Ian

Hi Ian

Yes just 5' minutes ago I logged on fine with Safari (Sierra) to
transfer money to my son Iain ! All worked well and was smooth and
quick - didnt see any of the wait or messages you saw

I take your points about the web design though.

New site also works fine in Firefox

I logged on OK to both personal and business HSBC accounts this morning
- using latest Sierra/Safari. The personal system has changed - it
doesn't look too bad.

I also use Safari Technology Preview - this doesn't work with some
things (eg the Guardian's comment system).

I find that all Mac browsers fail with some things, which is when I
switch to Windows under Parallels.

You got Ghostery installed in Safari?
Just a thought as it often prevents stuff like that loading.

...and that was it. Ghostery/uBlock and I cleared cache. It then
worked, although I know I'm not the only person on Safari who had
problems. Another guy at work did, don't think he uses Ghostery but
-do- think he uses an adblocker of some kind.

Not a fan - it's a waste of monitor space even on this 27" iMac. On the
12" laptop, it's just silly.

I've had similar problems - disabled Ghostery and was able to connect using Safari 10.1
