I loaded a folder full of mp3s into the library then tried to paste the
album artwork into the artwork box in the usual fashion. Nothing...
Deleted the iTunes Library files and fired up iTunes 6 then tried to paste
the same artwork against the same mp3s and it worked like a treat
Works fine here?
You do need to use the Artwork tab in the Info panel now though! Or you
can Copy and Paste using the side bar section.

I was pasting into the sidebar view having selected all the tracks in the
album. Odd
Ah right, that doesn't work no. Select each track individually and it
does. I think you'll need to use the multiple track selection and
Command-I feature to do more than one.
Yep, I've been having to do it that way too, dragging into the artwork
box only works on single tracks.

Drag and drop onto the info window works here. Trying the same trick
into the artwork pane seemed to work but didn't.

Select one track from the album, update the artwork on that one - either
method - and it then updates all the other tracks on that album.

Nor here. The effect is fine, but it's only the one track keeps the
artwork.
Er, but the ones I did manually a day or two back have kept the art
showing but it is no longer embedded in any tracks. Wha? Possibly
related to me doing a select-all, get covers last night before going
to bed.

Well, just another twist to mine, I've just hit the 'Get Album Art' and
got a totally random mix of incorrect album covers for all my unmarked
tracks!

Pfft. This is the buggiest and/or least consistent Apple release of
anything since... before I got back into Macs. That's only a bit over
a year, mind.

Are you sure ?
It seemed to work here with no problems....

Does it actually update all the individual tracks when you do one?
That's what doesn't happen here.

I tried to drag 'n drop the artwork to the window with them all selected
and that didn't work so I did it to one track and, when I played another
track later the artwork was there...
Okay - that's the same here then. iTunes appears to check all the
tracks in an album to see if any of them have artwork, and displays it
for all if so. You have to look in Info to see which track it's
actually in.
And in your case you had them all selected, so they _will_ all have it
in. Probably.

Yes, it seems to be rather bad doesn't it, iTunes up to now has probably
been one of the best free apps ever made.

It does seem to make some odd decisions.
I have "Return of The Grievous Angel" , a Gram Parsons tribute by
various artists.
iTunes dosn't find the cover art for the album and substitutes the cover
for Elite Hotel by Emmylou Harris, which contains 3 Gram Parsons songs.
Emmylou produced the tribute album and performs the first track along
with The Pretenders.
I deleted the album art and told it to search again and it came back
with the same result.
There are other similar anomolies/errors/mistakes/goddamit not
agains...grrrr

I can recommend the Amazon Album Art widget which if you highlight the
album requiring artwork, will go off and search for the artwork and put
it in place. it was so easy in iTunes 6. Apple seem to have sacrificed
useful features for eye candy. Maybe we'll see a return of some of the
functionality in 7.0.1 onwards.

The entire blogosphere aols that, it would seem.
I had to restart the iMac this morning after it seized up while
importing one (yes, count it) track.

Add to the list of irritations - they've removed the Equlizer icon from
bottom right. Why? Wot possible reason?
I reckon they gave iTunes 7 to the work experience boy and then released
it by accident.

To stop you irritating your neighbours with that horrid boomy tiss-tiss
noise that young people seem to like to play so loudly. If the equaliser
is confistcated then there'll be some mid-range as well as the bass and
cymbals.
