Is it possible to put a single audio file within a QuickTime .mov and mark
it at certain points, so that an effect akin to track marks on a CD is
produced? I'd like to add metadata to those marks as well.
Cheers,

Yes. I know a long-winded way, but I'm off out, and I'm sure someone who
knows a better way will be along soon. If they aren't, I'll write again
later.

Not so sure about this one.

I think it is possible - I'm trying to recall. Metadata Hootenanny might
be worth a look:

I think I did this once, in QuickTime Pro.

Yes, they're called "chapter tracks":

It's a bit fiddly, but you can create them with QT Pro and any text
editor.

Ho, vey nice. Worth it for the excellent name alone!
I'm assuming there's no Pro version of QuickTime X yet; I can't find it om
the Apple site(s).

I seem to recall you can install QT 7 Player alongside QT X and enable
the Pro features with a valid serial # to edit with it.

So it does, and still bears my Pro License key. Happy.
