It's still in development, but it looks awesome.

I have that album (the Kristin Hersh one in the screenshot) - I guess
that means I should try it then!

Whilst you're there, you might want to try the GasLight iTunes visualizer,
too (same URL, except s/coverflow/gaslight/). It's one of the nicest I've
seen.

It is nice. I wish I had a better graphics card so I could get the
better shading!

That is great. One wish - when it found art work I had not, it
added it it iTunes.

How about JewelCase? It doesn't do exactly the same thing, but it's
still quite nifty: <URL:http://www.opticalalchemy.com/products.html>
Oh, and it's Panther-happy, too, for all you Luddites out there. :)
Wow. Pretty. But does it put them in iTunes as well?

Ooh. Does it automatically grab the covers in the first place? I can't
tell.

Er, no. Which would be nice, but it doesn't seem to.
Have email the chap, might add it you never know.

Odd - I thought that was the whole point of them. But maybe I'm out of
touch here - what is the quickest way to grab cover art, just going on
artist/album name?
I found a thing called FetchArt, but it seems to use the iTunes script
menu which doesn't appear here.
What, the albums? No, it uses the ones in iTunes - that is where it gets
the images from.
I did the image thing recently with some program (which I think I heard
of on here). I needed them to show on my new iPod :-)

Ahh - coverflow doesn't fetch art, it just shows it. Fetch art is the
one I used.
Maybe you don't have a script menu because you don't have any scripts
yet? My iTunes on the powerbook doesn't have a script menu (it has no
scripts) but the one on big shiney does (it has scripts). They were
installed from the same package.

No, 'fraid not. You want Clutter (or something similar) for that; see
<URL:http://www.sprote.com/clutter/>.

Someone recommended Clutter a couple of weeks ago since which time three
out of 4 Mac users in this household now use Clutter...

Yep, that's the one I've got now.

It's working now, in the Script menu, after a reinstall.
However, I am baffled that some of these cover images are so huge. I
thought they would be little things, but some are 100s of megs. Seems
silly really.
Try Clutter maybe that will pull in smaller file sizes.

What? An album cover that's hundreds of megabytes? Are you crazy?
Even a 300 dpi TIFF of an LP trifold shouldn't be that big.

<blush> Um, I meant kilobytes.

OK, got that now. Thanks all for the suggestions.
I can't even remember why I wanted to get cover art in the first place!
:-)
heh! how is it? mine hasn't picked up any nasty scratches yet just a few
slight ones on its back.
roger
heh! mine is in its leather sleave, but i suspect that it will get a
well used look fairly soon.

I take it you have never encountered the Boney M _Oceans of Fantasy_ LP
cover?

You take it any way you want, but in this case, correctly.
