Does anyone have a registered copy of CrossFont and would be willing to
convert a PC Type 1 font into a Mac version for me? I have been supplied
the PC Type 1 version of a font for a one-off very small job but can't
get it to work on my Mac. I've already used the trial version of
CrossFont in the past and can't use it again. The job is worth much less
than the cost of paying for Cross Font... just wondered if anyone had it
and might be willing to convert the font for me - would be much
appreciated :-)

I'd be happy to if the PC trial version would do it (for 15 days at
least)?

The addy works.

That's very kind of you - thanks very much indeed! The trial should work
as that's the one I used before on my PC. I've sent you an email with
attachments (from my alternate 'zoobotanica' email address).

Thanks again for your help -

You should have mail (but it may have gone to your FC mod addy)?

Please let me know if it doesn't arrive.

For future such needs, you might try CMacTeX

<http://www.kiffe.com/cmactex.html>

because it's got some handy drag-and-drop Type 1 fount converters (with
added handier Applescripts) which sound like they'd do the job you need.

It's old but seems to work okay on 10.6 and my new Intel iMac - although
you won't get it to work without Ring the very start of TFM (you just
need to run the config program first - do that, no other action is
needed to persuade the T1 converters to work. And then you'll have to
open the text versions of the supplied Applescripts and save 'em as
executables if you want to convert batches. Not tricky...)

Thanks very much for that, looks useful - I have downloaded and
bookmarked for future reference, if/when needed.
