Yet again the creeping thought that I should update from Mojave to
Catalina (juat to keep as 'up-to-date' as I can) keeps intruding...

Just been digging around re iTunes->Music.app & what's different, I
came across <https://github.com/cormiertyshawn895/Retroactive> Allows
you to run iPhoto, iTunes & Aperture on Catalina up to Ventura (also
Final Cut Pro 7, Logic Pro 9, and iWork ’09 on macOS Mojave or macOS
High Sierra - should you wish to do so).

Seconded. At present I screenshare into a Mojave legacy 'puter
just for MacSOUP, it's that important to me.

When I had a 'Doze reason to run Parallels it was easy enough
to run a Mojave VM on it too. Now that my 'Doze case has died
I think I may ditch Parallels as being too costly. Besides,
I don't like subscription software.

Just checked - Unison is 32bit. Buggerit.

Ahhhhh... yes! Now, let's see... I know I tried it when it came out,
but there was a problem with it, which is why I went back to the old
version (1.8). I've just opened it now and at first glance it seems ok.
I'll have a play later in the week. Thanks for the reminder!

Thanks, Alan.

I wonder if it runs OK on Apple Silicon; I'm using a MBP M1X here.
I suppose there's one way to find out...

Thank you, both. It will be an interesting project for when I have
some spare time; meanwhile I still have my legacy Mojave m/c.

Thanks for the info - much appreciated. Are you using Usenapp also?
How's it looking..?

I used to use Hogwasher as well... It does say it still works on
Catalina, even though it looks like it's abandonware. Trouble is, even
though I have a serial number it won't work. I did email the dev a
couple of years ago but no reply.

How recently did you contact Asar? Three years ago I got a bounce back from
their serial support email (’Message not delivered/No such person’.)
I’ve just used their feedback contact form. Let’s see.

(I’m using the 5.24 trial version for this).

Yes, that’s the email address I got the bounce back from. My licence is
from 2006 though! Maybe if it’s no longer supported it'll continue working
after the trial? Who knows!

Am I reading this right - Hogwasher as abandonware? I’m using it right now
(on Ventura), bought from Mac App Store so no serial number involved. Are you
saying you’ve not had responses from the devs recently?

Thanks,
Ian

Correct, separate purchasing paths. I’ve never had to enter a serial
number.

Ian

Ahhh... Thanks Ian! I had no idea... I just assumed as I'd had no reply
to emails to Kurt & Asar about three years ago (and there was nothing
on the website mentioning anything past Catalina), that development had
stopped.

I got it directly from the website originally, along with a serial
number. Good to know it's still alive and kicking!

iWork '09 works fine on Mojave and High Sierra.

If anyone can find a way of getting it to run on later versions of the OS,
please let me know. As far as I can tell it won't run under VM Fusion or any
of the other main emulators.
