When you're looking at files in Explorer, instead of loading Word or
Paint or another big program, you can right-click on the file. Then a
little menu appears with QuickView on it. Select this and you can view
the file. So it saves you loads of time.

The version that comes with win95 is okay but the update to version
3.03 lets you look at lots more file types.

Hope that helps. Please feel free to email me if my explanation is too
garbled as I'm quite knackered :-)
cheers,

So where can I get this version 3.03? And more to the point, is it free?

It's for looking at files without having to boot up the host
applications.

It comes in very handy if you're trying to sort out your hard drive and
see what files you want to keep- it would take an age if you had a
selection of files in different formats and had to keep opening and
closing applications. Quick View comes with your W95 disk, but there's
also Quick View Plus available for around 30 ukp which can read more
formats ( anyone know if it can read Corel Draw6/ Xara files?)
