Windows 2003 Upgrade Recommendations

Well, my news server doesn't have a Windows Server 2003 group that I've
found, so I figured I'd ask here.

Does anyone recommend -not- upgrading to Windows Server 2003 from Windows
2000?

For reference on computer type, I'm using a Toshiba Satellite 3000-400
(Laptop, 900Mhz Pentium III, 192MB RAM), and, while the server line of OS
may be somewhat unsuitable, I rather prefer Windows 2000 to XP.

I prefer the design of Win2k, since it's specifically meant to (and does
seem to) give you more ready control over what's happening than what I've
seen of XP. I may follow your advice, and stick with it for now.

There is now a uk.comp.os.ms-windows, that superceeds this group and the
98 one and encompasses all releases, since the individual groups aren't
very busy anyway :-)

I once set up a Win2K3 test server on my laptop, a HP NX9005 XP2500+,
512MB RAM, 60GB HDD.

Bear in mind a new install of XPee runs like greased weasel sh1t off a
highly polished shovel on that one, Win2K3 ran like a 1 legged dog.
Something about laptops, a desktop machine of lesser spec runs it OK but
the laptop was slooooooooooooow.
