It shouldn't have worked, should it?
If you didn't change the username/password to log into the router it would
still work... its the username/password to log into your ISP that you need
to setup which you must of done correctly. I`d change that routers
username/password asap esp its a wireless router and your running an
unsecured network.
That's his point, he's talking about the ISP login.
Usually this is tied to a particular ADSL connection but IIRC
there are some exceptions.
Who is the ISP?
I take it it's the same one at both locations?

One is EzeeDSL which is 186k or something and the other is Cobweb who I
think resell Tiscali.
I think some of them will let absolutely any user/pass through because
it saves on tech support. Logically, if you're wired at the exchange,
you're a valid user.
BT home ADSL connections accept a wide range of generic user/pass
combinations, IIRC.

I think you can be confident that its not logging in to your home account
when you are at work, it is just ignoring the credentials. Not a problem
really, because you need physical access to the wires.

If I were a cynical person (heaven forefend),
I might be of the opinion that the only reason that some
ISP's require a username and password is so that users
*do* call for support....
...at premium rates.

Andrews and Arnold ISP. Tech support on a normal number and you talk
to a technician, not a screen reading drone.
