My epson C62 is on its way out , so I'll be ordering a new one soon in the
£60-80 range.

The ability to use compatible cartridges as well as originals is essential ,
and printing direct to CDs would be nice.

Anyone used this one ?

Or should I buy an Epson R200?

I've had an IP3000 for a few months now. Bought it to replace a POS Epson
C84 with heads that kept clogging up.

Can't fault the IP3000 so far. Photo quality is all I need for family snaps
and it prints nicely onto CDs. The only thing I havn't done yet is buy new
ink cartridges so I don't know about ink prices yet..

I think maybe they're designed to do that :-)

Original Canon cartridges are ~£5 black, ~£8 colour. Third party
cartridges aren't much more than a quid each. The cartridges are rather
small though.
