I have several hundred files on my HD (in one folder). I wish to zip then
individually into individual zip files. For example: I have files 1,2,3, and
I wish to create files 1.zip,2.zip,3.zip - in one operation.

Any dea how to do this with as little effort as possible?

you can do this with Winrar... select all the files, right click,
WinRar/Add to archive, in the dialogue box select the Files tab and then
check the 'Put each file to seperate archive'

Shame they don't add this to the fly-out menu :(
