Anybody here who has an Aopen H500 or H600 case and would be so kind to
help me out with some questions about it? I would really appreciate it!
Here they are:
1/ firs of all, does this case has a vertical strip of airholes on
*both* sides of the case or just on one side? On the image here
http://www.vdhsoft.be/img_art/memo/15443.HTM I can see it has a vertical
strip of airholes on the right sight (seen from the front), but does it
also have such a vertical strip of airholes on the other side that you
can't see on the picture? The downside of this would be that more
airholes let out more noise from inside the PC. So how is it with those
cases?
2/ On the same image (http://www.vdhsoft.be/img_art/memo/15443.HTM) I
see that at the front below the diskdrive it has a whole bunch of small
holes? Are those actual airholes or just a design element where no air
goes thru?
3/ Which is actually the difference between the H500 en H600? If I watch
here http://www.vdhsoft.be/memo/16189.HTM (H500) en here
http://www.vdhsoft.be/memo/15443.HTM (H600) they look identical to me?
The only difference seems to be that the H600 has some rails below the
PSU or is it an entire horizontal partition with only a small airhole in
middle for the wires which would be a bad thing for having good airflow?
Why are those rails necessary? Are they required perhaps to handle
heavier PSUs above 300W or doesn't this have anything to do with this
and can you also install a 400W PSU in the H500 which doesn't have those
rails?
5/ are those cases good enough for a Pentium 4 2.66Ghz, ATI Radeon Pro
9500, 1 Maxtor 120GB harddisk (and for the rest all normal stuff). Also,
is the 300W PSU model good enough for this kind of PC of will I need a
heavier PSU?!
Thanks in advance for all good feedback!
Mike.

Design effect only - no air passes through.

The PSU is a quite one as far as construction goes - there is one 120mm on
the bottom of the PSU where air is sucked in, over the electronics, then out
the back. It is near silent, the let down being that it is only 300W. I've
used 2 of these cases, in one I kept the PSU and in the other I installed a
400W Qtec PSU with no trouble at all. I haven't used a H500.

Hmm, I think you need a different PSU. But I'm running an Epox 8RGA+ with an
Athlon Thoro'bred 2000 , 60gb HDD and DVD drive on a 300W supply with no
problems. I think I read somewhere that the AOpen supplies are actually
re-badged Antec, who have a good reputation. The H600A has plenty of room in
it.

There's a pic here
http://www.aopen.com/products/housing/h600-series.htm
of a black 'windowed' version. It has airholes on the other side
