Dont bother - I've spent £10 on a pack - lined the inside of my case - and
there's zero difference in sound level.

I'd agree - I spent £15 on a pack for my case. I can't tell any difference
at all either.
I must say though that my case is very quiet already - maybe it does
something with loud cases, but certainly no difference in mine (and I even
lined the drive blanking plates at the front of the case!)
But probably not worth it. Next time I might take the plunge and get the £50
stuff with 3 different materials. That 'might' work. I think the problem now
is that the sound is escaping through the exhaust fan holes, which,
obviously, can't be covered.
Ben.

I dont understand why though.

Maybe they're disk-lexic :)
It's the success of matrox's brand marketing. Those MGA Millennium cards
ruled the roost for over a year....nowadays lucky if any card we buy last
longer than a few months.

Thanks for the info Douglas. I'd been considering buying some for my
machines instead of those packs QuietPC do at £50 a shot.
Anyone had experience with the packs QuietPC do with 3 different types
of matting? Are they as effective as all the other stuff QuietPC sell
or a waste of time/money too?

Bugger. Figured it was worth a punt on my Server which is on 24/7.
I've been waiting until I need to put something inside it before I
stick on these pads on the sides of the case.
Oh well.

Based on Douglas' comments regarding the Paxmate I've decided not to
bother and gone for the Power-Snooze packs - the same ones QuietPC
sells but they're out of stock so I purchased direct from the
manufacturer in Denmark.
I ordered 3 packs so I hope they don't think I'm taking the piss after
yesterdays score! ;-))
Presuming they don't get the hump and send me a dog turd or something
<g> I'll report back on it's effectiveness when it arrives and has
been fitted to one of my machines here.
