At the moment I'm looking at getting a wireless Access Point for the PC
and a PCMCIA car for the laptop.
But I need a range of 120 meters through two walls. Am I being optimistic?
In the pics, none of the PCMCIA cards I've looked at have external
antenna. Are there any that do?? If so do they have better range?
If not, would I get better range by using a USB wireless adapter for the
laptop. I'd like to avoid USB if possible but not if PCMCIA won't work.
You could buy a wirless access point, and use that with an external antenna.
That *should* improve the access from your existing PCMCIA card. If you are
wanting to access it from one single location using the PCMCIA card, you
could always use a 2.4GHz beam, which could be mounted outside, in the
direction you need.

John
A "beam" sounds like what I need. Is it something I can buy or would
rigging up a reflector be the best option?
