Along with the tourbillon, the Tourbograph features the two most complicated inventions required for the optimization of the rate stability of a mechanical timepiece. The manually wound L903.0 caliber movement consists of more than 1000 individual components. The sapphire-crystal back demonstrates the tourbillon, the chronograph/rattrapante mechanism, and - below it there is the fusée-and-chain transmission.
You will find the Tourbograph being sold at the price of $460,000. The timepiece was developed to honor the 15th anniversary of the re-establishment of the company's manufactory, the event that took place back in 1990 after the reunification of Germany. The edition of the watch is limited to just 101 units.
It takes one month for an experienced watchmaker to assemble the Tourbograph that may be characterized as a timepiece of "daunting complexity". Such beautiful watch could have appeared only due to the high level of craftsmanship. The whole production process requires from six to eight months with each timepiece assembled twice to guarantee its proper quality. Then the watches are tested in the strictest way for shock and movements accuracy.
