RATIONALE: uk.community.voluntary

Examining the posts available via two well known news servers, it
is apparent that the newsgroup is dead. The posts made during 2012
and 2013 so far can be broken down as follows:

5 spam
1 cross-posted flame

I don't think that these figures need further elaboration; the group
is dead.


CHARTER:
uk.community.voluntary

The aim of the group is to provide a forum for the discussion of the
activities of UK based charities and voluntary organisations.

The naming of the group, uk.community.voluntary, allows a logical structure
to develop if the group becomes popular and the amount of messages becomes
too large for a single group. Future groups could include
uk.community.voluntary.internet, uk.community.voluntary.finance,
uk.community.voluntary.training, uk.community.voluntary.fundraising etc.

Advertisements should be limited to occasional invitations to request
further information via email, or re-direction to a WWW site.

Binaries are not acceptable on this group, however references to FTP-able
material and Web URL's are welcomed.

PROCEDURE:

This is a request for discussion, not a call for votes. In this phase of
the process, any potential problems with the proposal should be raised
and resolved. The discussion period will continue for a minimum of 10
days, starting from when this RFD is posted to uk.net.news.announce
(i.e. until July 19th) after which a Call For Votes (CFV) may be
posted by a neutral vote taker if the discussion warrants it.
Alternatively, the proposal may proceed by the fast-track method. Please
do not attempt to vote until this happens.
