I have not kept cattle for some years, but was talking to a man who still
does. He said that his (good-quality) weanlings are making far less at sale
this year... Why?.. Well, the people that buy them are not sure where the beef will
be sold next year.

The same story is coming frmom UK sheep sales. What a crowd of Wankers is in
carge of that country!.

My grazier sold stores at a loss this Autumn. His explanation was cost
of Winter feed after the dry Summer.

Politicians! we need Jim and his church door I fear.

As long as you have the feed after last summer look at it this way:

There will be exactly the same number of hungry mouths to feed next year.

If you have what they want and can supply - then it's simple.

If you have it but some rule or other means your usual mouths get it
elsewhere then - the mouths that would have been fed by the alternate
supplier are now unfed ...

... and the global trends are for more people, less food (due water
pressure, temperature relate crop failures, overfishing and nasty civil wars
provoked by the previous) and rising prosperity in the far-east prompting
greater demand for high quality protein ...

So as long as you're not finishing within a few weeks of the inevitable
temporary disturbance you should be just fine.

Jim's other maxim about bucking trends seems to apply here.
