I'm trying to catch up on that too. I'd be interested in your results,
is it possible that you could post them here incase anyone else is also
interested? I know it's off issue but have you come across anywhere
online? Theres something called new.pig.corporation and also Askme.com
that offers a Q and A forum but offer nothing more concrete than that
to teach to follow through business problems and solutions.

Yours,
Tim Hollis

Just the one response from Steve Vigors-Evans (thanks very much) suggesting
"The Company Secretary's Handbook"; no direct e-mails. I have now bought the
book; it's very clear, covers all the basics and gives loads of examples
about form filling.

I've found that there's a new edition of The ICSA Company Secretary's
Handbook (ISBN 1860720986) due to be published 1/1/2001. I think this is an
updated version of a book called "Handbook on Company Administration" of
which I have a 1976 copy! If so it's likely to go into matters in greater
depth than the book above. It's certainly a much longer book. I have
ordered it.

Good luck.

Tim!

I've just come across usecolor.com because my boyfriend is setting up a
woodworking Ltd. co and I wandered if you'd come across anybody else
who has used them on your travels? I got hold of them through another
forum because of their business administratiom help and info-
tax/accounts/ legalites etc etc..

What I wandered is ..have you used their pre made company benefit
scheme for employess- holidays/ cars/gifts/ health etc. I run such
benefit schemes for my boss but if they take the shedload of the
organising and weight off the company that would be good...

Have you experienced them? are they good or naff??
Have to take this to a meeting by Thursday, everything seems pretty
good from their website but too good to be true? Business organisers
online?

I also have no idea about a book, but when you find it it will be useless
because it will be written by lawyers who think they are sooooo inmportant.
What is sorely needed is a sensible practical book written by someone who
knows all the ins/outs in reality. If someoen will gove me £50k. advance i
am sure i could put something togehter..........

I find Gee's 'Company Secretary Fact Book' an invaluable and definitive
source of information. Not cheap - I think it's about 600 stg per annum
subscription - worth looking at their website, which I think is
www.gee.co.uk

I believe Kompass produce a similar publication.
