Due to popular demand the Forgotten Futures Charity CD-ROM will now be
available until further notice. All profits continue to be
donated to the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. To date a little over 855
pounds has been collected from this and other projects, with 838 pounds
donated to charity and the rest accumulating interest pending another
donation, and more promised but not received yet.

The CD-ROM re-launches Forgotten Futures III: George E. Challenger's
Mysterious World, which includes all of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's
Professor Challenger novels and stories and a role-playing worldbook and
adventures based on the fiction, adding illustrations from the original
publication of _The Lost World_ and _The Poison Belt_.

Additional contents include the game rules and introductory adventure,
e-text versions of the stories for Microsoft Reader, and several
articles with relevance to Doyle or the themes of the Professor
Challenger stories:

* Bartitsu! The true story of Sherlock Holmes' martial art plus
The New Art of Self Defence
Self defence with a Walking Stick
How To Pose as a Strong Man
Illustrated articles by W. E. Barton-Wright, inventor of Bartitsu,
which achieved immortality as "Baritsu" in the Sherlock Holmes
stories.

* How Will the World End? - A serious(?) discussion of possible fates
for the earth, including ice ages, comet strikes, famine, invasion by
giant lobsters and other sea monsters, the exhaustion of all the
world's air, and a sudden collapse as oil is pumped out from beneath
the ground.

* Prehistoric Monsters - A lavishly-illustrated article on palaeontology
as it was understood in 1900, probably a major source for The Lost
World.

* Pre-Historic Letters - A series of five short humorous articles
describing a country house party, a picnic, and various other social
events in the stone age - probably not a source for the Flintstones,
but certainly in that vein, with additional cartoons on this theme.

* Scientific Illustrations - A selection of scientific illustrations
from the Forgotten Futures CD-ROM.
