£275
don't like to bitch, but this may be a bit overpriced for here (more like
£100 - £150)- oh - and there is no such thing as a P3 Celeron
Cheers

Snipped.
You are never going to get those prices via this group Tony.
You may well get more by selling them on ebay or the local
paper, certainly more than here as nearly everyone is clued up about 2nd
hand prices.

I'm giving stuff away and people still aren't interested. Keep the
prices high and run the scumbags out of town. (If you want more people
to want to do business here that is).

Agree with it being way overpriced for in here or anywhere unless it's a
local paper to numpties who don't know how shite a celeron is. (I have just
sold a HP Brio Celeron 466/64/4.2 with 15" FST monitor for £146 which I
bought for cheaper)

However there is such a thing as a P3 Celeron. At least I have seen the
description enough times on many forums and adverts to lead me to believe
there is.

As far as Intel are concerned the Celeron is a stand alone chip family and
should never be described in conjunction with PII, PIII etc. Even if you did do
that the PII went up to 450mhz and the PIII started at 500mhz so a 366 chip
could never be part of the PIII family anyway. It's all a bit academic but the
proper description is just Celeron 366.

There's a complete list of chips and the family they fall into on the Intel
site somewhere with intro dates and other info. Right back to the 8088 and
earlier I think. Don't have a link to hand though.

Actually, my Celeron shows as a P3 Celeron in dxdiag (dx 8.1), 3d mark 2001
etc.

That'll be because it's probably got a coppermine core. To be fair, my
celeron 566@850 based server machine has DXDiag see the CPU as an "Intel
Pentium III, 850MHz", but it is DX7.
