Separatists?

In the media today I saw Scotland's parliament called 'SEPARATIST', but Westminster cited as merely 'EXITING' the European community. 

So Westminster is not 'separatist' when it wants to leave the EU, but Scotland IS 'separatist' when it wants to STAY in the EU.

I remember the "Contras" (U.S.-backed right-wing militant groups in Nicaragua, illegally funded by Ollie North) who Ronald Regan called "freedom fighters"!

Trump will soon be calling the communist Putin, his brother-in-Christ in Russia --- a "free market icon".

I turned my back on party politics when Labour's Harold Wilson, confronted with the CIA-backed fascist colonels' coup d'état in Greece, said Whitehall's recognition of the regime was based simply on "who was in control in that country".

Trump, a deeply stupid TV host and failed businessman, thinks you're stupid --- and that's like a donkey calling you thick --- but I'm embarrassed to say that his bonehead assessment of the West's political intelligence is spot on.

The only language more false than those is the term "patriot".  Samuel Johnson said that "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel". 

 

Every time I hear a politician say

ALL TRUE FRENCHMEN ---

ALL AMERICANS AGREE ---

THE BRITISH PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS ----

I cringe.
