Hi all,

A number of you may be interested to provide contributions into the “melting pot” for this emerging ISO/IEC standard. If so, do please direct them either to Michael Mulquin (UK rep on the relevant ISO/IEC working group) or to BSI ecommitte...@bsigroup.com, mentioning “ISO/IEC 5087-1” in the subject

This initial round of contribution closes on 8th September 2020; there will be several later rounds over the coming year.

There is a parallel piece of work (5087-2) looking at “city level concepts”; that initial call closes on 25th September.

Note: I’m not in that working group, so can’t act as a direct channel to it.

Dear All,

There are lots of standards out there. :)  Several of us on these lists are involved in BSI AMT/4 which has ISO 15926, STEP, MoSSEC and QIF under its umbrella.  In the distant past, when industrial data standards were first developed, AMT/4 invited contributions from those working on the SQL standard and on tolerancing and dimensions standards.

Maybe the BSI can be proactive in getting some sort of communication between these activities and the FDM.  I note that the next meeting of BSI AMT4 in on the 30th September, where something could be kicked off.

Best regards,
David
