Aloha, list!

First, some good news! We've secured some tables and chairs for the
EMFM tent. Huzzah!

Also, I've been plotting and scheming with JamesHarrison regarding how
the infrastructure is going to work, it is essentially going to be
thus:

Each stage has a dvswitch machine, plus video cameras and composite
capture (for VGA) this will output via RTP multicast to the network.
At the stages, there will be a script which generates graphics to
overlay over the stage video

The raw feeds from the stage will be sucked into a gstreamer pipeline,
which will composite the streams, add graphics, logos etc.and allow us
to switch to a non-live source if required. This will then be
squirted back out onto another RTP multicast. This will be the
"public" feeds, which people on site can probably tune into with the
right SDP file.

Finally, a ffmpeg or gstreamer pipeline will suck the complete RTP
stream into Icecast, which will then be relayed offsite for the world
to see.

Exactly how this will be done is currently under development. If you
like Gstreamer and Python, let me know and I'll point you at a bit
that needs work.

As for EMFM itself, we're going to stream into the same Icecast
server. Nice and simples!

The general aim is to arrive on site on the 30th and start setting up
the studio and the Master Control Room, and then the stages as they
are set up. Hopefully, we can get some live tests underway by the
evening!

If anyone wants to help out with this, let me know! One thing that
would be useful is transport from the space to MK, as there are a few
bits there that need transporting :-)
