As the sun shines my list of beekeepers offering to help beginners get started (and the established replace winter losses) gradually grows to cover more of the UK.

Buying a well established hive in April with an overwintered colony headed by a young vigorous  queen has a couple of advantages over buying a nuc. For one you are simply buying more bees and more bees in early spring can mean a lot more honey in the summer. If you are looking to increase your colonies then more bees certainly makes the job easier.

Langstroth or National? You choose in Liverpool.
