Hi All,

The end of May is not far away and the air will be alive with virgin queens out on their mating flights. We wish them all a safe return. The earliest of the summer nucs may already have new queens laying by now.

Starting with a summer nuc is, I think, the more traditional way of beginning your beekeeping experience. After completing a bee keeping course you will be keen to get started. The first time you will be handling your own bees!

The very best courses will have a nuc ready for you to take home by the time you have finished the last lesson. However, many will leave you to source your own bees and you may find yourself looking for a summer nuc.

There will be summer nucs available in different parts of the UK - so if you are looking but can't find one please drop me an email. I may be able to help.

Happy beekeeping.

Yours,

Patrick
