and outside the region, are misleading the
public, promoting confusion, and interfering in
the internal life of churches.

political agenda which may harm the Christian
presence in the Holy Land and the wider Middle
East.” The document, signed collectively by the
Patriarchs and Heads of the Churches in
Jerusalem, directly challenges efforts by
pro-Israel evangelical networks to insert
themselves into ecclesiastical affairs in the
region­efforts which have grown increasingly
visible and politically influential over the past
decade. The statement reiterates that only the
Patriarchs and Heads of the Churches in Jerusalem
have legitimate spiritual authority over
Christian religious, pastoral and communal life
in the Holy Land. It expresses deep concern over
the fact that Christian Zionist figures have been
welcomed at official levels, both locally and
internationally, despite promoting theologically
and politically dangerous views. Such
endorsement, the Church leaders warn, emboldens
interference in the pastoral governance of
historic churches and disregards centuries of
rooted ecclesial presence. Christian Zionism is a
political theology, primarily associated with US
evangelical movements, which links the return of
Jews to the land of historic Palestine with
biblical prophecy and endorses unwavering
political support for the state of Israel.
Palestinian theologians and church leaders have
long denounced it as a form of theological
colonialism that distorts Christianity,
marginalises Palestinian Christians, and
underwrites Israeli settler expansionism. In
their statement, the Jerusalem church leaders
affirm their unity and spiritual mandate over the
sacred Christian sites in the land “where our
Lord lived, taught, suffered and rose from the
dead.” Quoting the Apostle Paul, they reaffirm
that “we, though many, are one body in Christ,”
and stress that any claim to authority outside
this communion of churches undermines the faith
and burdens the local Christian mission. The
leaders concluded with a pastoral invocation:
“May the Lord, who is the Shepherd and Guardian
of souls, grant wisdom for the protection of His
people and the safeguarding of His witness in
this sacred land.” This is the latest in a series
of warnings from Christian leaders in Jerusalem
who have raised the alarm over the increasing
instrumentalization of Christianity by external
actors seeking to advance political agendas that
ignore the lived reality of Palestinian Christians under Israeli occupation.

contract fraud – this Is why 9 Councils are
bankrupt. Nine UK councils have declared
effective bankruptcy since 2018. Over £5 billion
in debt. And when I followed the money, I found a
pattern: the same companies kept getting paid
while your local services collapsed. One man
allegedly bought a private jet, a country estate,
and a yacht ­ all with council tax money. A
single IT project went from £19 million to £216
million. Treasury advisers took kickbacks to sell
councils toxic loans. And the consultants
investigating these failures? Often the same
firms that helped create them.

implementation is without exaggeration the most
expensive single IT project failure in UK local
government history. Well, here’s the setup.
Birmingham had an old SAP system running their
finances. It worked. I mean, it wasn’t glamorous,
but it worked. In 2019, they decided to replace
it with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, a shiny new
system that would modernize everything. Original
budget £19 million. Final cost so far, £216.5
million for a spreadsheet. Give me two grand,
I’ll get it done in a week. And that’s not a cost
overrun. I mean that is financial arson. The
system was implemented by a company called Evosis
and despite staff testing reporting just days
before launch that the system was unstable and
failing to load properly, they went live anyway
in April 2022. Of course, the results were
immediate and catastrophic. The core bank
reconciliation system, you know, the bit that
tracks money coming in and going out, failed
completely. The council literally could not tell
how much money they had. Security features that
were supposed to detect fraud but never switched
on. For 18 months, there was no way to track if
someone was cooking the books. A Grant Thornton
audit found a culture where, and I’m quoting, bad
news was not welcome. Critical information about
how badly the system was failing was hidden from
elected counselors for approximately 13 months.

Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local
Government (MHCLG) over plans to allow councils
to delay elections by a year due to the
challenges of the local government reorganisation
(LGR) programme. The case will be heard in full
during a two-day hearing from 19 February. Any of
the 63 local authorities seeking to be joined as
an interested party or seeking permission to
intervene must file an application by next
Friday. The day before that deadline, the
government must inform the court of “the reasons
for its decision” to exercise its powers to delay
local elections. In exchange for a full hearing
within a month and the orders issued by the
court, Reform UK’s legal team agreed not to ask
Mr Justice Chamberlain to issue a temporary
injunction preventing the government from
announcing delays to any local elections. Julian
Blake, representing the MHCLG, said the secretary
of state was content to agree to a “reasonable
amount of expedition” in the matter so it could
be resolved before 27 March, and therefore the
application was “unnecessary”. In response to
today’s court order, a Reform UK spokesman said:
“We said we would fight Labour every step of the
way on this and we are. Labour are disgracefully
trying to deny democracy. We are determined to
win this case next month.” A spokesperson for
MHCLG said: “This is an ongoing process and no
decisions have been made yet over any delays.
There is a clear precedent for postponing local
elections where local government reorganisation
is in progress, as happened between 2019 and
2021. “These are exceptional circumstances where
councils have told us they’re struggling to
prepare for resource-intensive elections to
councils that will shortly be abolished, while
also reorganising into more efficient authorities
that can better serve local residents.” Sky News
contacted all 63 councils that the government
said could request a delay to their local
elections, and nearly half have requested one.
Twenty-nine councils have said they would like a
delay or presented a case for one – 21 of which
are Labour-run, four are Conservative, two are
Liberal Democrat, one is Green, and one is
independent. The final decision rests with the
government, and ministers have said they will
announce shortly which elections will not go
ahead this year. Amid outrage from opposition
parties that some local elections are being
delayed for the second year in a row, Local
Government Secretary Steve Reed argued on Sky’s
Politics Hub last week: “The vast majority of
elections are going ahead on schedule. “Where we
have asked councils to let us know if there needs
to be a delay or a postponement is where we’re
going through the biggest reorganisation of
councils in decades.” He explained that a third
of the country has two councils, rather than one,
which is money that could be spent on local
services, and so they are offering to postpone
elections this year if holding them could mean a
delay to elections next year. All the councils
that have requested a delay cited the resources
needed to deliver the government’s LGR programme,
and many said it would not make sense to spend
hundreds of thousands of pounds to hold an
election for councillor positions that would
exist only for one year. But the Reform UK leader
has described the government’s move as
“absolutely monstrous”, and has previously
accused Labour and the Tories of working together
to lock his party out of power…

evictions leave 100s kerb-side, vigilante arson

dwellers living on a street in Bristol have been
given just days left to leave, or they could face
court action. Bristol City Council has deemed the
site on Goodneston Road in Hillfields, which has
around 20 vans, to be “seriously impacting the
local community and environment,” following
suspected arson attacks.

January, giving those living in vans and caravans
seven days to leave. They’ll be given advice and
signposted to relevant support services. It’s
part of a new policy to turn the tide on kerbside
living, by trying to offer alternatives such as

sites with water and electricity. The target is
for 250 of the spaces by the spring. Those
affected have told ITV News they currently have
no other option but to live in vehicles, and say
moving them isn’t solving the problem but
shifting it somewhere else. The road borders land
earmarked for new housing, but the several dozen
people who live on the other side of the fence
hold no hope they will ever be able to afford a
home of their own. Allani, a middle-aged Irishman
who says he’s been living in a caravan at the
site for six months, said: “I’ll probably just
move on to another street, somewhere else, a
quieter street. “Twenty years ago, you never had
caravans in Bristol, but now you’ve got caravans
everywhere. Why is that? It’s because the housing
stock has been run down. I don’t particularly
want to live in a caravan, but I have no choice.
Hillfields Labour councillor Kelvin Blake has
campaigned to clear Goodneston Road and says
steps must be taken to ensure vehicles don’t
return. He said: “For all the sympathies many may
have with those experiencing a nomadic lifestyle,
the lack of even the most basic facilities and
recent anti-social behaviour makes the road a
no-go zone for many local people. “The majority
of people are living in squalor. If they were
living in the private sector and a landlord was
providing facilities as poor as they’ve got here
– no running water, no waste facilities, limited
waste disposal – then we would be taking
enforcement action.” The council says if people
just take their caravan or vehicle to another
road and refuse to cooperate, then legal action will begin.

mental harm. As of July 30, 2025, according to
the UN Office for the Coordination of
Humanitarian Affairs, Otcher, the number of
people injured in Gaza stood at 146,269. UNICEF
says the total of children injured between 7
October 2023 and March 2025 is over 34,000.

on US President Donald Trump, said he is acting
like an “international gangster” who thinks he
can “grab” what he wants by force. Addressing
Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper in UK parliament,
Davey accused Trump of being a “bully” and said
that the UK should stand together with their
European allies to make him back down. “President
Trump is acting like an international gangster,
threatened to trample over the sovereignty of an
ally, threatening the end of NATO altogether, and
now threatening to hit our country and seven
European allies with outrageous damaging tariffs
unless he gets his hands on Greenland,” he said.
He added that it is a “grave moment” for the UK,
Europe and the world to be in, as Trump is
attacking the economy, livelihoods and national
security of countries in “unprovoked aggression”.
Davey branded Trump as the “most corrupt
president the US has ever seen” and sarcastically
offered two options to keep Trump at bay. First,
flatter him with gifts and money, such as a brand
new jet, put billions in his crypto account or
stand up to him. The scathing criticism comes as
Trump has threatened tariffs over opposition to
his ambitions to grab Greenland. After European
capitals pushed back, Trump on Saturday said he
would impose 10 per cent levies on eight
countries ­ including Denmark, France, Germany
and Britain ­ from February 1, lifting them to 25
per cent on June 1, if no deal is reached on
Greenland. “The proposed additional tariffs are a
mistake especially between long-standing allies,”
EU chief Ursula von der Leyen told Tuesday’s
Davos gathering in Switzerland. “Plunging us into
a downward spiral would only aid the very
adversaries we are both so committed to keeping
out of the strategic landscape. So our response
will be unflinching, united and proportional,”
she added. US Treasury Chief Scott Bessent on
Monday said that any retaliatory EU tariffs would
be “unwise”. President Emmanuel Macron said
Tuesday France preferred “respect to bullies” and
rejected “unacceptable” tariffs…

naval bases and military bases and to reopen
them, set up new satellite dishes, whatever.
Nobody is stopping him. So, he doesn’t doesn’t
really need what he’s asking for. Interesting. I
mean, this is not so well known, is it? That the
Americans do have a is it maybe you could give us
the right pronunciation, Tul or Thul Air Base in
Greenland. And I was also uh amazed to see last
week that in the 1960s there was an American
bomber with uh several nuclear bombs on it that
crashed in Greenland. So I mean it doesn’t seem
to me as if the the the Greenland people or the
Danes have really been stopping the Americans
operating there. No, they you’re right. They lost
a hydro hydrogen bomb on the sea ice up up there
in uh on the by the Tula base. Uh and uh we we
have this um agreement this base agreement since
1951. So it’s uh you know almost older than my
mother. Uh so yeah it’s like everything is there

it continues to go. They were very friendly with

those damn things. They killed the birds. They
ruined your landscapes. Other than that, I think

them. The consequences of such destructive
policies have been stark, including lower
economic growth, lower standards of living, lower
birth rates, more socially disruptive migration,
more vulnerability to hostile foreign
adversaries, and much, much smaller militaries.
The United States cares greatly about the people
of Europe. We really do. I mean, look, I am
derived from Europe – Scotland and Germany. 100%
Scotland, my mother. 100% German, my father. And
we believe deeply in the bonds we share with
Europe as a civilization. I want to see it do
great. That’s why issues like energy, trade,
immigration and economic growth must be central
concerns to anyone who wants to see a strong and
united West. Because Europe and those countries
have to do their thing. They have to get out of
the culture that they’ve created over the last 10

farmers for climate change – Arla uses Bovaer hay
additive to stop cows farting. Bovaer Open Letter
Dear VMD and CVO DEFRA, I am writing to you
regarding my concerns over a product called
Bovaer1 that is being added to lactating dairy
cattle feed as a food supplement with the aim to
reduce methane production within the rumen.

have some questions in bold below that I would
like answers to please. Why is this product not
listed as a veterinary pharmaceutical in the UK
given that it changes the physiology of the cows
that eat it? I gather that the FDA in the USA
consider it to be a pharmaceutical, which is no
doubt why Elanco as one of biggest veterinary
pharmaceutical companies have taken on the
distributorship for North America. Given that the
intention is for cows to eat feed containing
Bovaer for their full lactation, year on year
throughout their productive life, how can a 15
week Bovaer consumption trial be considered
sufficient? One study used only 4 cows per group
which isn’t statistically significant and was not
considered valid for evaluating the tolerance of
the target species to the additive. This trial is
therefore of questionable use at all. Whilst the
most pathology was reported at the highest dose
as would be expected and at a much higher
inclusion rate than intended for on-farm use, we
still have no data on the possible cumulative
effects of lower level consumption over a whole
single lactation let alone multiple lactations.
We know that Bovaer is a respiratory, skin and
ocular irritant requiring handlers to wear PPE,
but we have no idea whether low level exposure to
feed dust over a protracted length of time might
sensitise cows to it and compromise their health.

or growing cattle for beef, how can it be
considered safe for cows? The FSA/FFS2 who
reviewed the Bovaer trial data for UK
authorisation consider that the genotoxicity of
Bovaer has not been fully established. The larger
size group cow trial found reduced ovary size,
reduced feed and water intake but decided that
these could not be categorically linked to Bovaer
consumption and because ovary histology wasn’t
seen to be abnormal that this was somehow OK.
Cows produce most milk for roughly the first 100
days of their lactation during which time they
are on a metabolic knife edge, and even more so
now with the amount of milk produced in an
average lactation compared to when I was a farm
vet in the 1990s. The risk of reducing feed and
water intake plus the potential reduction in
ovary size at the time they are being put back in
calf is additional stress that reduces the
welfare of the cows and risks additional
veterinary intervention with regards to fertility
and potentially extends the calving interval, all
of which has financial implications for the
enterprise. That isn’t acceptable. As a MRCVS who
has worked as a farm only veterinarian for 8
years when I first qualified, ovary size was a
factor that was taken into consideration during
routine fertility visits when assessing ovary
activity. On what basis are the FSA/FSS, as
official bodies set up to assess what is safe for
human consumption, qualified to assess what is
safe for use in livestock production for the
livestock? What else should we expect from a
FSA/FSS appraisal designed to fit the climate
agenda rather than a proper VMD regulatory
authorisation assessment that considers animal
health and welfare alongside necessity and
efficacy? Bovaer’s genotoxicity is considered
inconclusive by the FSA/FSS. Consideration it
seems was only given to the cows consuming the
Bovaer themselves. As I’ve already pointed out,
cows in early lactation are put back in calf, but
the trial did not last long enough to consider
any impact on that or the calf after birth, let
alone any future genetic or epigenetic
generational impact on fertility or other aspects
of health. Rushing through product authorisation
is a gamble that rarely if ever works out. It
begs the question as to why Bovaer is being
fast-tracked with regulatory corners cut, and
previous definitions of what constitutes a
pharmaceutical being abandoned? It is time that
this lemming-like rush to jump off the net zero
cliff is called out for what it is. Firstly,
methane is not a problem for our planet. It never
has been, and it never will be. The current level
of methane in the atmosphere is about 1911ppb =
0.0001911%. Methane is on a 10 year carbon cycle
which isn’t significant even if methane was a
problem. The methane levels in the atmosphere do
not mirror the global cattle population which
would be expected if it is an issue…

Recently declassifed file APO 696 from the
National Archives in Washington is a detailed
survey of how far Third Reich scientists got in
the development of an atomic bomb – something
leader Adolf Hitler craved. In the file, obtained
by the popular daily newspaper Bild, the task of
the academics who prepared the paper between 1944
and 1947 was the “investigations, research,
developments and practical use of the German
atomic bomb.”[1] The interviewees describe seeing
a ‘mushroom cloud’ near the North German town of
Ludwigslust, close to the Lüneburger Heide
(Luneburg Heath) near the city of Hamburg. 2018

January 2018 in a BCFM radio interview with
Argentinian born blogger, son of a Nazi scientist
and former Swiss banker, Manfred Petritsch. He
cites conversations with an unnamed former Nazi

released by Argentine President Javier Milei last
year reveal how Argentina’s search for Nazi war
criminals, who found refuge in the country during
and after the Second World War, were able to
avoid arrest and, for the most part, live
ordinary lives. While Argentina’s Peronist
government sympathized and often knew of Nazi
criminals hiding in their territory – often under
their auspices – once the populist regime fell,
the South American nation half-heartedly tried to
keep tabs on the war criminals hiding there.
Though many high-profile cases went nowhere, the
case of Hitler’s henchman Martin Bormann is
exemplary in showing how inefficient Argentina
was in its investigations. Bormann was one of the
most powerful figures in the Nazi regime, despite
his relatively low profile to the public. He used
his position as private secretary to Hitler and
head of the Nazi Party Chancellery to control the
flow of documents personally received by Hitler
and who had access to him. Through enormous
administrative influence, he shaped policy and
controlled what Hitler saw, who he met, and
advised on major decisions. Bormann supported
extreme antisemitic measures and was one of the
masterminds of the Aryanization project. Bormann
disappeared in May 1945 during the fall of
Berlin. For decades, it was speculated he had
fled to Argentina along the ratlines ­ escape
routes facilitated by Nazi sympathizers. Bormann
was sentenced to death in absentia during the
Nuremberg Trials. The files show that Bormann was
one of the very few Nazis the Argentinians
actively tried to pursue and bring to justice.
However, most of the leads came from
sensationalist press articles often devoid of
factual and actionable intelligence beyond the
mere mention that he was hiding in Argentina. The
files meticulously depict intelligence agencies
trying to corroborate such reports and assert
whether the floated false aliases matched the
actual man in Argentina. Agencies followed
information coming from reports in the Argentine,
U.S., British and Brazilian press, along with
some translations from German-language media
published in Argentina by the émigré community
who were suspected of harboring Nazi
sympathizers. The articles triggered extensive
paper trails between the ministry of justice,
intelligence bodies, border and customs agencies,
the federal police, and local authorities, but
were often disconnected from one another, or took
a long time to be referred to the various sub-offices for action…

by an Israeli-made M26 grenade, stating instead
that the device was produced by an Argentine

followed a wave of testimonies aired by local
Argentine media, featuring residents fleeing
their homes near Chubut province. More than 3,000
people were evacuated as fires spread through the
region, with several residents accusing Israeli
tourists of lighting fires. A video broadcast by
Argentina’s A24 channel went viral over the
weekend after it showed an interview with a woman
displaced by the fires, who accused the
government of “selling Patagonia to all the
Israelis”. The interview pointed to efforts by
the Milei administration to repeal a forestry law
that restricts foreign land purchases, a move
that has sparked a legal and political debate
over sovereignty and control of Argentina’s rural
land. Proposed changes would also lift
restrictions on the sale of land immediately
after it has been affected by fires, safeguards
originally introduced to deter speculation and
arson. The accusations have prompted many social
media users to draw parallels between the
destruction caused by the fires in southern
Argentina and the devastation inflicted by
Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza. Milei has dismissed
the claims as “antisemitic”. In a statement
