Dear HFAs, please distribute this email to all your departmental secretaries for distribution to ALL ACADEMIC STAFF MEMBERS TODAY (Tuesday 27 October 2015)
Dear UTC members and all other academic staff members, please take note of the following:
Please see paragraph 8 of the attached communique from the Vice-Chancellor – the decision was to MOVE FSAOs (Exams) forward with ONE week.
Here are the detailed arrangements:
1. ALL UNDERGRADUATE Exams have been moved one week later for the Normal Nov 2015 FSAO, as well as for the Dec SSA FSAO (in the same Exam Session (i.e. times) as previously – please see the details re the changed dates in the attached New Nov Exam Format document. Please note the ONE exception – i.e. the exams originally scheduled on Wednesday 4 Nov, was moved to Wed 18 Nov, as NO FSAs may be scheduled on certain religious holidays and 11 Nov 2015 = Diwali (see relevant circular attached), according to Policy.
The SSA Exams have been moved as follows:
§ Monday 30 Nov à Monday 7 Dec
§ Tuesday 1 Dec à Tuesday 8 Dec
§ Wednesday 2 Dec à Wednesday 9 Dec
§ Thursday 3 Dec à Thursday 10 Dec
§ Friday 4 Dec à Friday 11 Dec
2. The CEP Whole Programme Exams are NOT affected by this decision and will REMAIN on their scheduled dates (Mo. 26 – Fr. 30 October).
3. The UJ Post-graduate Exams scheduled on Wednesday 28 to Friday 30 October have NOT been moved to alternative dates and will REMAIN as is, EXCEPT if a department requests it to be moved to alternative dates and/or sessions. In such cases, please contact the relevant TTD staff member ASAP – pls see table with contact info below.
4. The UJ Post-graduate Exams scheduled on Monday 26 October was moved to Monday 2 November and the ones scheduled on Tuesday 27 October was moved to Tuesday 3 November. If a department would like to alter this arrangement (per Module Exam Paper), please submit such requests to the relevant TTD staff member ASAP – pls see table with contact info below.
5. Regarding Ad Hoc Venue Bookings for the period Monday 26 October to Friday 11 December 2015:
§ The DATES and TIMES of these bookings will REMAIN UNCHANGED, BUT the VENUES may need to be changed due to the above-mentioned changes to Exam Timetables (in order to prevent venue clashes). If venues are changed, the venue requestor will be informed of this ASAP (within the next day or 2/3).
§ If the requestor/department would LIKE TO CHANGE the dates and/or times of such bookings, please contact the relevant TTD staff member (see table with contact info below) to arrange this ASAP.
