HELP: Blank -vs- Zero problem

Recently designed some forms/tables for data entry with the "treat blank
fields as zeros" mistakenly checked under : EDIT : PREFERENCES : DATABASE.

Now, we have not been able to remove this characteristic from tables (even
after correcting the preferences on all data entry machines). We have
tried exporting/importing, adding to new (identical) tables,
restructuring....

Upon visual review, the blank fields appear blank.

Where & how can we remove this characterisic from the tables in question.
