Eh?
If someone posts an RFD, I am entitled to respond to it as I see fit.
Or perhaps you thought the original post was a troll? In which case, why
have you not responded in similar fashion to it?
I put it to you that you are in this group to make trolling replies to my
posts, and no other reason.
I find this a very interesting proposal, at the first reading.
It is potentially fraught with danger, and my first thought would be to oppose
the creation of such a group, despite my disregard for Ashton's trolling, and
use of so many profanities.
The rationale behind my own possible opposition to the formation of the group
would be the possible consequences regarding the future of uk.*.
If I may expand slightly on my thought pattern, it would be thus:
If everyone learned not only how to cancel the vile postings emanating from
Ashton, but applied the knowledge gained to absolutely anyone they disagreed
with or disliked, it could mean the eventual downfall of uk.*, and possibly
usenet as a whole.
If the group were formed as a moderated group, then I would possibly support
the formation. My consideration would be based on who the chosen moderator may
be.
Possibly, that would limit the potential for cancellations to the more
obnoxious postings.
Come to think of it, I suppose the larger proportion of Ashton's postings are,
on the whole, completely obnoxious.
With that in mind, I have now decided to support the formation of this group,
and would post to it.
