How to trigger events like scrollViewWillBeginDragging on a UIScrollView?

I am having some issues trying to trigger Scroll View delegates when I
scroll a UIScrollView. I am currently scrolling using the following:

[[app.scrollView index:0] scrollRectToVisible:frame animated:YES];

Any help triggering the delegates like scrollViewWillBeginDragging
would be greatly appreciated.
