The MetaSynth and ArtMatic Wiki's are working (mostly) again!
Well for the moment...

The Story of What Happened:

They were built using the DokuWiki plugin on a shared server at LunarPages.com
LunarPages upgraded the PHP on the server which broke the old DokuWiki plugin.
I updated the DokuWiki plugin to the current version, but still no go...
No way to access the content and preserve it either...

More back and forth with LunarPages support.
Eventually a decision to move the site to a private server and rollback PHP and DokuWiki.
Get it working again, and copy and paste all the info into a more reliable static medium.
At least the past would be preserved!

A project proposal arrived, budget was approved, then...silence...
Many emails and phone calls later...deflections...
What the heck is going on?

Eventually reverse engineered their phone tree to get to the target person.
They got on the phone and I asked, are you going through a reorg(ization)?
"Yes" we were bought out and my mgmt told me to take no actions on your project.
There was infighting between old and new teams and 3rd party elements.
Basically how did money flow, and until settled data movement between shared and private servers where forbidden!

Ug, really. We just want our Wiki to work.
I logged many complains with different parts of the company...
Planned our move to a different provider...and then...

Hi I'm with Host Papa we bought out Lunar Pages and can now help you resolve things.
We have a private server and ported your content over to ensure recovery, no charge.
Viola! Now recovery of the data can happen, and setup of new platform. Yeah!

It might vanish again along the way but for now it is there, if you need it.

Thanks so much for persevering Kevin - I know the wiki has been a valuable resource for many. I’ll make an announcement on the Worlds of ArtMatic page that it is available once more,

All the best
Peter.
