Why is rendering on VTrack so much slower than rendering on AM Pro?

I have Artmatics Pro 4.7 and VTrack 2.7 on the same machine, but
rendering time from both application on the same spec (Video formats,
size, length of video are the same) VTrack is way way way slower than
Artmatics.
For example a 500 frames movies would take Artmatics less than 4 mins
to render while the same 500 frames will take VTrack 30 minutes to
render..... this really bums me. Can anyone help explain? Deeply
appreciated.
Thank you.

Sincerely,

Eisen

ArtMatic is multi-processing and Intel-native. On an Intel-machine VTrack runs in rosetta mode as it is not Intel-native. It is single-threaded. You can double VTrack's effective rendering time, by splitting up the render and using Fast User Switching to render the different segments in parallel. If you have a quad core machine, you can almost quadruple the effective rendering speed and on a dual-core machine you will almost double the speed.

Best,

Edward

Thank you Mr Spiegel for your kind reply. Will there be a Intel
version of VTrack out soon? I am an old user of your products and I
am still hoping and praying that your lovely company will come up with
an Intel version of Videodelic. You guys got me hooked on your
products with Videodelic, it's an amazing and unique product, please
don't let it fade away, please.

Very very best regards,

Eisen

I wish I could say when VTrack and Videodelic will be ported to Intel. Apple eliminated a lot of the calls that they both rely on. VTrack will require less re-writing than Videodelic but it will require some experimentation to figure out how to implement the removed functionality (which enabled us to do some super-efficient bitmap processing in a particular way that is no longer possible with the the new graphics architectures -- and we are still exploring how best to do that).

Videodelic will basically need to be re-done from scratch. It is on our wish list but I can't say what the timeline is.

Best,

Edward
