Usability Senior Engineer: Taipei, Taiwan

General Summary:

Our ideal candidate will be able to think in terms of holistic product
design with a balanced focus on user experience, usability, and
aesthetics while also considering the strategic impact of design upon
the global business goals.
The responsibilities for this position include identifying and
developing innovative human factors and user experience solutions for
Dell mobility products. Specifically, the Usability / Human Factors
Engineer would focus on I/O, product usability, user research,
generating specifications and working with development teams on design
implementation for both hardware and software. The individual will
work closely with multidisciplinary teams including Engineering and
Marketing to develop solutions for improved product user experience
through user-centered design, quantitative and qualitative research,
and iterative usability testing. Daily work activities include
evolving Usability/UI standards and guidelines, developing prototypes,
translating field or lab data into usable design solutions, conducting
user research, analyzing user behavior and requirements, and
leveraging results to spark focused design efforts. Management of
multiple programs is required, and the candidate must possess the
ability to work with various disciplines within development teams.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for product usability during all phases
of development for various mobility products. The individual will also
ensure the final designs meet the marketing requirements, quality and
cost goals, product specifications, and achieve world-class standards
of product usability. This role will be responsible for providing
concrete design deliverables, coordinating UX strategy, and managing
external agencies.

Qualifications:

• Experience applying Usability/HF methods and principles to both
hardware and software tools/applications
• Education: Graduate level degree in HCI, Human Factors, Behavioral
Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related
discipline
• Experience working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including
external agencies. Will work closely with Industrial Design,
Marketing, and Hardware/ Software implementation disciplines
• Proven track record of crafting innovative & usable user-centered
designs
• Experience developing UX specifications & guidelines
• Experience in experimental design (surveys, field studies,
statistical analysis, & usability testing)
• Ability to operate independently under tight schedules while
managing multiple programs
• Strong verbal and written English language skills along with
executive-level presentation creation and delivery
• Exceptional teamwork & leadership skills
