What is the focus of this list? Yet another Silverlight support forum, or something bigger? Just askin'... :)

I had really hoped to see some silverlight design come from this list, the community has so many coders but so few designers.

Hey Gunnar,

As the originator of this group, I've noticed that myself.
The purpose of this group is well beyond support, I trust there are other, better, dedicated places for such activity as StackOverflow and MSDN.

This group's purpose is to have a common ground for discussing concerns, ideas that are cross cutting wpf, silverlight, html5, and other UI oriented fields.
While I am not promoting support Q&A I am not moderating it for now.
When time comes where people are engaged in such discussions that those threads interfere with that I will.
I encourage you and everyone else, to put on the table thoughts, ideas so we will have something else to respond too :).

Thanks!
Ariel

Thanks! That's what I was hoping for. If anything, I think the entire (.NET) community needs more "Look, I did this!", rather than "Look, this is how I did this!". Something that celebrates good UI ideas, design AND technology!

I fail to see the difference between "Look, I did this!" and "Look, this is how I did this!". As a developer I always look at the total picture first but after that I'm interested in "how" it was done. The more we share code, design, approach and process the better the community will become.

Absolutely, I'm also first and foremost a developer, and I care very much about "how" things are done. I guess that's natural for any kind of craftsmanship. But I still think the community would benefit a lot by caring about and showing off the end result (or prototypes) of what we're doing, much more than now.

-It's inspirational
-It's educational
-It keeps the focus on what's really important.
-It allows developers with good ideas to be heard
-It's fun!
