Title: Java consultant

Location: Beaverton, OR

Duration: 6 Months +

NIKE+ Application Support Engineer

 Duties:

 Lead application support engineer for Nike+. Responsible for full stack support and site reliability for all mobile and web applications. As the application support engineer you will be focused on driving best practices for set-up of application monitoring and alerting, site availability and reliability, incident and problem management, and SOP documentation.

 Additional Responsibilities:

 ·         Maintain the site reliability and availability for the portfolio of Nike+ applications using application performance monitoring tools and real time visualization.

·         Leverage a strong knowledge of infrastructure and digital platforms across Nike dev and technology teams on issue investigation and root cause analysis. Must be able to diagnose and present recommendations to teams quickly and efficiently.

·         Ideal candidate will have strong communication skills (written and verbal). They must be able to clearly articulate issues, impact and requests for assistance. 

·         Must be proactive in addressing critical risks and making suggestions for process improvements. They will be accountable for team performance with respect to SLA compliance and operational readiness.  

·         Participate in on-call incident management rotation

 

Required Skills

·         3-5 years using Enterprise Java in highly distributed systems with high transaction volume

·         Spring framework (theory or hands-on exp.)

·         JPA or any middleware

·         JBOSS servers

·         Apache web servers

·         REST services

·         Oracle/PL-SQL

·         Cache framework

·         JVM configurations (Including GC strategies)

·         Previous experience working with or on an application support team a plus

Education

Requires a Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
