We have a new client who is looking to fill to key roles in either Rockville, MD (outside Washington, DC) or NYC. This company is at the forefront of technology, ahead of most private sector firms, and is committed to using open source and cloud computing technology to transform not only their business, but also the open source and cloud computing industries as a whole. Our client wants technologists who will contribute to and utilize open source software and packages, such as Apache Hadoop, Drupal, Hbase, Tomcat, Spring, Memcached, MySQL, Angular, Karma, Jasmine, Bower, Grunt, jBPM and projects from the Eclipse Foundation among others.

 

As one of the largest Amazon Web Services (AWS) partners for data services, they are looking for top talent to join their elite team to build and contribute to large-scale, innovative projects. They seek candidates who are eager to learn and grow with them as they work to move their market monitoring applications to modern big data platforms in the cloud where up to 60 billion market events are being processed each day.

 

If you are a fast learner, have a sharp mathematical and technical mind and are interested in working for one of the biggest data users in the country in a fast-paced, open source environment, our client has an immediate need for a Big Data Solutions Architect as well as a Sr. Hadoop Developer. The successful candidates will be responsible for architecting, designing and leading the implementation of a batch and real time analytics platform to scale to petabyte warehouse volumes and billions of records processed daily. Analyzing enterprise system and business requirements and incorporating them into the reference architecture's design and implementation. Prototyping data analysis solutions and facilitating solution deployment and support

The candidate will need to architect designs the bridges the needs of the business, the big data scientists and the big data engineers. The candidate will be responsible for managing the full life-cycle of a Big Data solution. This includes creating the requirements analysis, the platform selection, design of the technical architecture, design of the application design and development, testing, and deployment of the proposed solution.

Some of the Job Responsibilities in these roles include:

·         Benchmark systems, analyze system bottlenecks and propose solutions to eliminate them.

·         Clearly articulate pros and cons of various technologies and platforms.

·         Document use cases, solutions and recommendations.

·         Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Help program and project managers in the design, planning and governance of implementing projects of any kind.

·         Be able to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments and use this in designing the solution.

·         Be able to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.

·         Be able to work in a fast-paced agile development environment and drive innovation of system designs and solutions.
