Let's take a look at these three stellar entries and then get to the
new news of the day. We've got a lot to say today, so hang in there.
*** CHALLENGE ENTRY RECAPS HERE
JAMES investigated our very own Lyova. (We know he's your newest
favorite internet celebrity too. Just admit it.) This entry took a
deeper look at the conversation Lyova and an ex-girlfriend had in a
comments thread way back at the beginning of the game, and it offered
us a welcome translation. James also revisited Lyova's famous
pager-code challenge entry. Finally we were treated to an ichat James
had with contestant Lyova in which James asked him about the mystery
surrounding his true identity. For the record, Lyova denies that he is
a character developed by a team of writers, web designers, and film
makers at MIT.
LYOVA is disdainful of gossip and he found this challenge "uninspired."
That being said, he was able to produce and immunity winning video for
this challenge. How did he do it? Check out what game host/judge Steve
had to say about it:
"Rad puppets!
Funny Catchphrases!
Awesom concept!
Killer script!
BOOM!"
Sounds like a winner to us.
MIMI lets us in on the long and glorious history of Trumptington,
Cambridge University's favorite anonymous gossip columnist, and treats
us to a special (albeit brief) NY edition of classic Trumpington
gossip. If we were more "in the know" we might have been able to figure
out the names of the important people who were seen cavorting with a
young Brazillian stripper, but we were to distracted by Mimi's (er...
Trumptington's) 2nd piece of gossip to try to figure it out. It seems
the "prestigious Manhattan firm" where Mimi works has discovered her
blog and isn't very happy about the fact that she doesn't have a valid
permit to work in the US.
*** NEW NEWS OF THE DAY HERE
Big big news, as we enter the home stretch, and the tension builds. As
one commenter said, "no matter who gets kicked off this round, I will
be bummed." We couldn't have said it better ourselves. We have met 5
ultimate bloggers, and we don't want tosee any of them go.
LYOVA WINS DOLLS, IMMUNITY
Somebody will go tomorrow, but it won't be Lyova because he won the
coveted Belomagic Digital Nesting Dolls of Immunity for his low-fi
video that both critiqued and spread gossip. It also had a wicked hot
soundtrack and a cathy dance sequence.
That means that any of the remaining 4 bloggers are at risk. Who will
it be? We can't say, since in the last voting round all alliances went
to hell in a...how you say? oh yes, handbasket.
Anyway, we wouldn't dare guess how the votes will turn out, but
WIllow thinks she knows. She thinks it's bad news for her. On her blog
she posted: "this is probably the end for me, at least as far as
Ultimate Blogger goes. I gave it my all in the last challenge, but it
wasn't enough to grant me immunity. I fear the other alliance will
banish me from the Internet by sunset." She could be right, but only
time will tell.
SHIT EATING REDUX
Remember when Joel got eliminated and Steve said those immortal
words,"GET YOURSELF A BLOG!" Well, it seems as though Joel has taken
his advice. Look what we found!! http://straightuptruth.blogspot.com/
Yes, it's Joel's new blog!!!
If you've been missing him, head on over and be the first in line to
give him some comment love, and tell him we sent you.
MIMI GETS DOOCED
On a more somber note, Mimi told us that she was fired from her job
because of her blog. She says the blog led them to check on her SSN,
which they then discovered was not exactly her own...Mimi, we're
thinking of you and hoping everything works out!
UHUBUGGG IS FAMOUS
Did you see the hot new feature our tireless blogmasters have whipped
together? It's a wrapup of each entry and vote from the beginning of
the game until now, and on top of that, it looks just great. Check it
out here:

They also mention us! "Also, alternatively, you can follow along with
the anonymously operated Ultimate Blogger Google Group. CAUTION: The
opinions expressed within this group aren't necessarily shared with the
official Ultimate Blogger staff. Who's running this thing!"
Thanks for the mention, guys; you've helped us reach 75 members! We'd
prefer to be called "the mysterious, opinionated, never-boring inside
scoop team," but hey, we'll take what we can get.
Are you still with us? We hope so. Tomorrow won't be as big of a day
because players will be voting. The next big news in the UB world will
probably be a sad goodbye/fond farewell to one of our final 5 bloggers.
One last thing. There are some new UltimateBlogger tagged flickr photos
up.

Goodnight,
your UHUBUGGG
