Just as we were going to press last night, this comment from Lyova
appeared in the Den.

"OK. Here is the hostage crisis latest updates.
James is well and sleeping for past hours. I think we have reached a
suitable pact concerning the endgame.
But he is still very much in my clutches and I will only release him if
you do something for me.

I need 10 (or best offer) videos of people (contestants, fans, judges)
bobbing their heads. The clips can be very short (5 seconds) and you
must be completely serious on them.

THIS IS IMPORTANT, NOT A JOKE, OK?

Hostage negotiations is not something we ever imagined would be a part
of this game, but here we are.
What demands, Lyova!
Luckily, the UB audience is enthusiastic and quick with a digital
camera. Just a few hours after Lyova posted that comment, eliminated
contestant Joel and his girlfriend Sara shared a head bobbing clip.
Many commenters responded by posting their movies, and we can only
guess that many more sent the videos directly to Lyova.


JAMES VOGES FREED

YAY! According to Lyova, James is now free and headed back to the
United States! Good job, head bobbers! We can't wait to see what Lyova
did with all those bobbing heads.


MORE HIDDEN IMAGES AND CONTROVERSY

One commenter believes the video of Lyova and James is a clever fake --
2 videos stitched together in just the right way. Other commenters
disagreed and thought it was real.

Game guru, Jona, directed everyody's attention to an image of a flying
pig
(http://www.urbanhonking.com/ultimateblogger/den/archives/stalin%20pig.html),
saying that it was hidden in the "take look at what i find in
taiwan..." entry. In case you forgot already, Lyova calls James a
"little Piggy," in the video, and apparently James is flying right now.
Jona warns that "everyone should pay close attention to these next
posts.." Does he know something we don't know?

Steve brought everyone's attention to this image of an eggplant in the
sky, which is apparently hidden in James' Merit Badgers post.

An alert reader tells us that James' ichat status said "egg.plant"
yesterday as well. What does this all mean? Will we find out when
Lyova posts his challenge entry?


MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE RANCH

In other news, former players are also lobbying in their comments for
the players of their choice.
*Sonny has clearly cast his vote for James, in large part because
Lyova's only blogging is in this contest: "How can the ultimate blogger
not be a blogger?" *Willow has clearly forgiven James for his betrayal
saying " James is good! He deserves a prize package for his valor and
honesty! Vote for James! VOTE FOR JAMES!!!"
*Mimi hasn't announced her take yet, though she's hinted that she might
be favoring James
*Ritchey's heart is firmly on her sleeve: "Mimi, we must vote for
Lyova, yes? He was our brother. I no longer hate and fear him for
betraying me. Both James and Lyova are fabulous. But I think we all
know who the real Ultimate Blogger is. I've said my piece."
*Joel says, "I simply respect James' A/V work, and his HTML
skills...Good job, James! But alas, I must vote against you."
None of the other eliminated contestants have said their piece, though
we'd love to know what you're thinking...

We checked one more time and there's nothing from Lyova yet.
It will be up any minute now, we bet.Will James post too? Or was his
post actually that hostage video?

We're done with the news for the day, so we're going to send this off
rather than wait for any more posts to appear.

We bet this game is keeping a lot of people glued to their computers
this Friday night. Not us, though. We're going to go out and party.
