Sorry if I sent an incomplete post earlier. I'm new to using UHMW, but
plan to use it for woodworking jigs and fixtures. Some of these call
for using thin sheets, e.g. 1/8" or 1/16". Since the plastic is
ungluable, how can thin stock be attached to a substrate (wood)?
Various books and plans indicate thin sheet runners, but I haven't
found info on attaching them. Screws would of course defeat the
purpose. I have found "self-adhesive UHMW Slick Tape" (http://
www.ptreeusa.com/uhmwproducts.htm#slick), 0.015" thick, so apparently
there is some kind of adhesive that will hold the stuff in place
relatively permanently, even if it won't make a structural bond. Any
tips on mounting thin UHMW will be greatly appreciated!

I would suggest using flat head screws, the ones with the angled underside and countersinking the hole just a bit so that the head rests at or just below the surface of the UHMW.  I know that's difficult to do with 1/8 and 1.16, but I really don't have any confidence in the tape.
