Save the Date for 2nd Annual Hawaii Sustainability in Higher Education Summit

We are excited to announce the 2nd Annual Hawaii Sustainability in Higher Education Summit, a three day conference for work planning, program sharing, and skill building to support higher education sustainability transformation in Hawaii. Mark your calendars for March 13-15, 2014 at Windward Community College in Kaneohe, Hawaii!!

Call for Proposals is NOW Open!

We invite you to engage with the participants to advance sustainability on Hawaii campuses and surrounding communities by submitting a proposal for the program-sharing track of the summit. Share your insights, solutions and expertise in the form of presentations, panels, skill-building workshops, or posters to support the summit’s goals.

All accepted presentations should meet the following criteria:

• Be relevant to Higher Education in Hawaii. 
• Include a key topic area of sustainability such as 
• Teaching & Learning (SLO’s, Curriculum, Campus as a Living Lab, Cultural Applications, etc), 
• Research & Development, 
• Operations (Energy Efficiency, Air & Climate, Food Systems & Dining Services, Waste & Recycling, Procurement, Water, Transportation, Buildings & Grounds, etc), 
• Engagement (Campus Engagement, Student Life, Outreach, Employee Orientation & Development, Community Partnerships, Inter-Campus Collaboration, etc), 
• Planning & Administration (Coordination, Planning, Governance, Diversity, Affordability, Investment, Health & Wellbeing, etc) 
• Have a successful program or project implementation, perspective, or paper to share.

Participants will come from the University of Hawaii 10-campus System, Hawaii Pacific University, Brigham Young University – Hawaii, Chaminade University, University of Phoenix – Hawaii and other Higher Education Institutions as well as invited politicians, state and federal officials, local and national sustainable business representatives, non-profit organizations leaders, and community members. Submit a presentation, workshop or poster now.  The Call for Proposals will close on January 20, 2014, 4PM HST.
